Love Is In The Air

Valentines Day is coming upon us. It just so happens to be my favorite holiday. I say what better way to spend a day than thinking about love. It has never been a consumer craze for me but more of a handmade, show all the people you love in your life how much you care for them. Because Andrew and I are on a serious budget we are just spending the day together as a family. I made him a valentine and we will go to the good chocolate store and spend a few bucks on chocolates we both will enjoy. A beautiful day, spent with the people I love, and we get a treat on top of it! Sounds wonderful.

I only made one item for Valentines Day on Etsy and it is called the Secret Heart Corset Coffee Cozy. I had a lot of fun creating that little sustainable project. All it took was a couple hours, an old wool sweater, some scrap fabrics and an idea. I think it turned out very nice...and its useful! It looks like the heart is sewn all the way around, but in fact I left a bit of it undone so there is a secret pocket behind the heart. Perfect for money or a secret admirer's message.
