Just "Twittered"

I finally did it...I am hooked up to twitter. Now you can keep up with how the business is moving and what I am creating through out the day. Check it out at http://twitter.com/anglincrafts . I have been working hard on this Mothers Day creating a new skirt. I am thinking about calling the line "Rain Drops on Roses" after the song in the Sound Of Music when Julie Andrews gets the idea to make the curtains into playclothes. That seems to be my whole way of doing business anyway. Creating from old and giving it a repurposed life. I will have pictures of the finised product on Etsy. http://arastitches.etsy.com/

Come see us at the Salem Saturday Market on Saturday May 16th!

Sebastian James Anglin

Well I am finally back. It has been two weeks now since I had our little bundle of joy. Sebastian James Anglin was born on March 3rd at 2:10 am. He was 8lb 5oz and 20.5 inches long. He is so sweet and laid back. He eats like crazy and his older brother loves him! They are so cute together.

I will start working on new stuff for Etsy as well as the Saturday Market and our new online venue with Corvallis Artisans Market this week. I have big plans for this years arts and crafts so keep checking Etsy and stop by the Saturday Market from May -October.

Love Is In The Air

Valentines Day is coming upon us. It just so happens to be my favorite holiday. I say what better way to spend a day than thinking about love. It has never been a consumer craze for me but more of a handmade, show all the people you love in your life how much you care for them. Because Andrew and I are on a serious budget we are just spending the day together as a family. I made him a valentine and we will go to the good chocolate store and spend a few bucks on chocolates we both will enjoy. A beautiful day, spent with the people I love, and we get a treat on top of it! Sounds wonderful.

I only made one item for Valentines Day on Etsy and it is called the Secret Heart Corset Coffee Cozy. I had a lot of fun creating that little sustainable project. All it took was a couple hours, an old wool sweater, some scrap fabrics and an idea. I think it turned out very nice...and its useful! It looks like the heart is sewn all the way around, but in fact I left a bit of it undone so there is a secret pocket behind the heart. Perfect for money or a secret admirer's message. Check it out and my other things I have for sale on Etsy!

New Year, New Projects

I am now working with some other mediums that I can recycle. It is not just fabrics any more and to tell you the truth it hasn't been for a while. I have been developing these recycled books into journals and planners. They are really cute and should be up on Etsy within a few days. This new line of recycled books is called Judge a Book By Its Cover. I take old books cut the bindings off and use the covers to form new useful journals out of.

Creating Before Baby

I have been busy the past few days getting ready for our next baby and that includes getting ready for next market season. We will be selling in the Salem Saturday Market from May through October as well as some other markets through out the summer. It will be more challenging to create a stock of inventory after the baby arrives, so I am trying to get a good stock to sell at the markets before then. As usual we will be selling recycled, reversible bags, coffee cup cozys, quilts, lavender flax pillows and pens. I am working on a a few new designs for things like clothing, hip pouches, scarves and belts, all made from recycled/upcycled fabrics. I think this season will be one of the best and I am giving a preview of most of my work on Etsy.
